The third annual CARES "Future in the Making" American Sustainability Forum took place from October 23rd to 24th, 2024, where ERA acted as a Knowledge Partner, led three presentations, and participated in an expert panel discussion regarding practical carbon footprint reduction measures.

The event was held in Dearborn, Michigan, at the Lovett Hall within the historic Henry Ford Museum. Its main themes were the reduction of waste and the environmental impact of automotive production operations, the use of more sustainable materials, and the development of new green technologies for production. Several leading automotive OEMs attended, including General Motors, Stellantis, Toyota, and Honda, as well as over 300 supply chain, materials, waste reduction, energy, and data management experts.

ERA delivered two talks on the first day: one on the regulatory influences on sustainability reporting, joined by Bill McDermott of Stellantis, and the second on overcoming challenges in quantifying Scope 3 emissions. The day ended with co-CEO Sarah Sajedi's participation in the plenary panel discussion, where she contributed her knowledge on sustainable materials integration and supply chain tracking.

Day 2 featured Sarah Sajed and Laurie Graves of consulting partner Tetra Tech presenting the different ways of unearthing hidden CO2 emissions in waste paint streams to ensure they are included in accurate Scope 1 and Scope 3 emissions calculations.
